Flat Aluminum Sheet
Unique to the industry is the use of aircraft-grade flat aluminum sheet material as a wheelchair frame. We have designed a pediatric chair that is amazing in both its functionality and look. Besides its strength, the use of flat stock material provides a flat mounting surface for seats, seat backs and accessories. It eliminates the need for special mounting hardware to attach seats to round tubes, thus keeping the chair cost effective and easy to use. The flat surfaces are also great spots to put your child’s favorite stickers.
Round Aluminum Tube
Our standard adult wheelchair is made of rounded aluminum tubing. The Round Aluminum Tube offers various seat sizing and other options like an adjustable height and angle backrest. The frame is fabricated using 1 ¼” 6061-T6 drawn aluminum tubing that provides strength and stiffness. Drawn tubing as opposed to extruded tubing is far superior in dimensional quality. Also, in order to maintain the frame’s stiffness after welding it together, we post weld, heat treat and artificially age the aluminum to gain the ultimate material properties, providing superior strength and support.
Oval Aluminum Tube
These unique chairs are made up of a special oval tube, which makes the chair extremely strong and lightweight. Like the Round Aluminum Tube, the Oval Aluminum Tube is also drawn and post weld heat-treated and aged to ensure the material’s maximum strength and quality. However, unlike the Round Aluminum Tube, the Oval Aluminum Tube is designed for the more experienced rider. Fast and lightweight, it also comes with a new kind of folding backrest that uses a single support and carbon fiber backrest instead of the traditional tubes and upholstery.

theBUG: Children grow like weeds... Hence, we designed theBUG from the ground up to be a child’s chair that grows with the child. With seat widths that start at 6,” simple adjustments will allow the chair to accommodate up to 16” of width.
theBUG not only meets their growing needs, but their driving needs as well. Just simply detach, reverse and reattach the upper assembly and theBUG has the ability to convert between a front-wheel drive (allows easy reach for early independence) and rear-wheel drive in less than five seconds.
Until now, dealers, therapists and other healthcare professionals would cater to the needs of the chair before the seating system. However, with theBUG, we’ve done the opposite. We’ve built the chair around the seating system by utilizing a FLAT seat and back aluminum platform that immediately accepts nearly any seat and back option. This eliminates the cost and hassle of buying expensive brackets to attach a seat or back to the round tubes of your chair.
