Creative Technology Services Acquires TEFTEC Corporation Canton, MI – November 27th 2007 - Creative Technology Services(www.ctsmius.com) announced that it has acquired the OmegaTrac® product line from San Antonio, Texas-based TEFTEC Corporation (www.teftec.com). Created by James A. Finch and his family, who became quadriplegic after his family was hit by a drunk driver in 1978, TEFTEC has been known for the sales and distribution of the OmegaTrac® and BetaTrac® Power Wheelchairs. OmegaTrac®, the Flagship of TEFTEC’s fleet, is a front-wheel-driven, transmission-steered, powered wheelchair base with vertical travel suspension on all four wheels. It is an extremely rugged unit that was designed to be very robust. The BetaTrac® shares its frame with the OmegaTrac®. It is intended for individuals weighing more than 450 pounds, but may be specified for any use when extra heavy-duty capacity is needed. The acquisition will add approximately ten new positions at CTS’ headquarters and assembly facility in Canton Michigan, as the company’s operation will move from Texas. CTS will sell the OmegaTrac® and BetaTrac® power wheelchairs into its newly formed sales and distribution company, NEXT Mobility, LLC (www.nextmobilitynow.com), which was formed to serve the rehabilitation industry and focuses on high-end niche mobility products. “We are very pleased with this latest strategic acquisition, which enables us to provide more choice to our very varied customer base.” says Donald A. Leith, Chief Executive Officer of NEXT mobility. Jim Finch adds: “It is difficult to let go of a business that was created for very emotional reasons, and within our family. CTS made it a very easy decision for us, as we could immediately see their motivation for wanting to distribute these products was not so different from ours, namely to change the lives of wheelchair-bound individuals”. Creative Technology Services, headquartered in Canton, Michigan, went through a management buyout from well-known automotive supplier MSX International, last year. The extensive experience which it has gained with the manufacturing of Independence Technology’s iBOT® (a Johnson & Johnson Company) has positioned NEXT Mobility uniquely in the technology-based medical mobility equipment space.
